“Nature is something precious, calm & a beautiful thing that is bestowed to every living ones on earth”.  When you feel to have a break from monotonous life, waterfalls is the best place to chill out & have a stress free mind. Yeah! I understand. In this pandemic situation, there are some restrictions to go certain places. Anyways, let's hope that this situation will be fine soon.

Living in a city with pollution, breathing polluted air, less time to spend time happily? Don't worry I've got you “Top 5 Mesmerising waterfalls & rivers near to me" in Tamil Nadu. In the upcoming articles, I'll include places to travel in & around the world.  I went on a vacation to four of these waterfalls with my friends & family and it was an awesome experience enjoying the chill weather...Let's get immersed into the Paradise of Waterfalls!

1. Hogenakkal Falls
Hogenakkal Falls lies in South India between boundaries of Dharmapuri District of Tamil Nadu. It's often been called "Niagara Falls of India”. Tamil Nadu Government made a proposal to convert this hogenakkal waterfalls to provide drinking water for the public in TN.

Now coming to the most interesting part of sharing my experience to Hogenakkal waterfalls. My relatives & I packed the necessary items for the one day trip. We had a great time having bathed in a herbal waterfall. I felt much relaxed & stress free. Oil massage to boys & men is one of the best parts in this place. Then we had tasty lunch of fish with rice. We went on a fun filled boat ride. It was evening then and time went on really faster. It was time to return home.

2. KARANAMPALAYAM DAM

Karanampalayam dam is situated in a small Hamlet Kodumudi in erode in Tamilnadu.

It was summer holidays then. My family & I planned on a trip to relax as I completed my 11th board exam. I actually compeled my family members to take me a trip to a natural place.  First we visited a local temple in that area. It was such a vast area. The surrounding was completely filled with green. Then we visited paddy fields, sugarcane fields, coconut & Palmyra grooves, sunflower fields, jackfruit, Papaya, mango trees and so on..and took wonderful pics with the nature. It was such a beautiful place for introverts who would love to be in a calm place. I live in a city so that all the greeneries felt new to me. At last, we chilled in water flowing across the dam. We caught some fishes. My day was over then.

3. KUTRALAM WATERFALLS

It's also referred as Courtalam/Kuttalam falls. It's located in Tenkasi district in Tamilnadu near Western ghats.

It's located on a river called Chittar.  This Kuttalam falls is actually consists of 9 falls of which Aintharuvi(five falls), Peraruvi & Pulu aruvi are popular among the tourists. This falls is often called “medical spa” because of the herbal smell mixed with the water. There also lies a temple called “Thirukutraleeshwarar Temple” near this falls. However I didn't get a chance to go to this falls. May be in future..

4.  KODIVERI DAM & WATERFALLS

Kodiveri waterfalls is located in sathyamangalam in Tamilnadu. It's situated near Bhavani river.

This falls is the one that is most visited by me. We visit this falls once in a year. As usual delicious fish with white rice was served. A lot of hand carts are available where you can get tasty foods & toys for children. There's also a park near the falls. A famous temple called “Bannari Amman temple” lies 27 kms away from the kodiveri dam.

5. THENGUMARAHADA RIVER

Thengumarada is a small Hamlet located in the middle of sathyamangalam forest in Tamilnadu. The source of this river is from River Moyar.

This Thengumarada river is my most favourite one among all these. It's was an unexpected journey. Actually we had a plan of going to kodiveri which lies along the same path in sathyamangalam. But at that time,  kodiveri dam was closed due to fast streaming of water. So, we searched of a best place near to that.

It was really hard travelling to Thengumarada. The path was full of ridges & grooves. Moreover, you have to get permission from the forest department. After getting permission, we entered the forest area where we saw deers, elephants & skeletons of the dead animals. If you really love travelling to wildlife spots & remote areas, then this is one of the best places I recommend for wildlife & nature lovers. We travelled in a Scorpio car. We crossed the river to reach the destination and a ramp which was too difficult to pass over. We even thought of “Does it really worths of?”. Thank God! We reached out final destination.

Fast stream of crystal clear river you could hardly find. Would you believe that we were the one and only people in the surrounding! NOT A SINGLE person. Losing myself hearing chirping of birds & rippling sound of brookside.

It gave me more happiness than trophies & shields I received in my academics. We took pieces of fish from home & all the stuff needed for cooking. My mum & aunt cooked such a yummy meal with fish curry & fried fish.

The funny moment was offering fried fishes to living fishes in the brookside. I was admidst of woods feeling that I born new. The time was really fast for me. We enjoyed a lot till the evening & took back memories. Another crew of family joined while we were leaving the place. I'm waiting for another chance to visit this river again. Hope this pandemic gets over soon!

Hey pals! That's all for today's artilce. Did you enjoy reading this article? Which of the natural places do you wish to see or which one of the pleasant natural places you've seen?  Nature is something that's equal to almighty. In fact, I'm ancient times people of India worshipped nature as God. “When you seem to love nature, you start to love people around me. Then you see the world with another perpespective”. Just love & care for the nature to bestow it to the future. It's my kind request.
